People believe that testing is a good and fair way applying to test accurately assess of students' strengths and weaknesses. However, it's irrational to judge students' capacity wholly by the outcome of plenty of rigid tests, the attitude toward their own academic learning should be more significant.
In my opinion, since the humans are social animals, it's quite important to evaluate studens' performance not only by their abilities of dealing with problems well independently but also their capacities for cooperating with other ones. Therefore, the better way in my mind to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of students' academic performance may be to design some practical projects, divide students into 3 to 5 ones per group, and give them appropriate time period to accomplish it. Through it, it can be easy to distinguish the students who manage quite well not only in his own learning responsibility but also the good communication with other team members from the ones who just want to be free riders.
